"movements" is a collection of songs composed of microsamples of other songs. The songs sampled covered a diverse range from folk (Bon Iver, James Taylor, Perfume Genius) to neo-soul (Alice Smith) to 90's alternative (Bush) to classical (Lubomyr Melnyck) to jazz (Kessel) to Japanese experimental pop (Ferri). Each song uses the feeling of the original song as a starting point to go into strange new emotional territory. From the bright warmth of "Icelandic" to the desperate darkness of "oh, but I wait" the songs twist and stretch along unknown pathways. I hope you enjoy them.
